We'll start off acknowledging that there's a different yard stick which measures political narratives from the left than from the right. Sure that's unfair, but that's politics. Having said that, the left is famously inconsistent in its messaging. In a relatively short time frame, politicians of the left will often argue for and against the same thing - given the prevailing political winds blowing at the time. This is something we accuse centrists of from time to time - which is what defines their 'movement', such as it is. Understand that there's a huge gap between leftwing activists and politicians/parties of the left. The former seeks to raise awareness of [cause] by various means available, to varying legality of course. The latter seeks to win elections. After all, no left wing cause or programme can see the light of day and bring change until it has the levers of legislative power to do so. That is the perpetual stand-off between activists and parties...
